Originally from the UK, I started my working life as an English language teacher working in adult education in Germany and Italy. After settling permanently in Germany, I worked for several years in international business for a German manufacturing company.
Alongside my work, I studied part-
During my training, I gained several years’ experience in an addiction service as well as providing a counselling service for hospice residents and their relatives. I also gained experience of working with residents of open and closed psychiatric wards.
I currently head a psychosocial counselling service.
I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), a student member of the Metanoia Institute (MI), and a member of the Verband freier Psychotherapeuten, Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie und Psychologischer Berater e.V. (VFP). I abide by the codes of ethics of these organisations.
I regularly consult with senior colleagues. This supervision serves to raise my awareness of how I am working and thus enhance the quality of my professional practice.
