About me

Originally from the UK, I started my working life as an English language teacher working in adult education in Germany and Italy. After settling permanently in Germany, I worked for several years in international business for a German manufacturing company.

Alongside my work, I studied part-time for a BSc in Psychology after which I entered into training towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy by Professional Studies with the Metanoia Institute, London, (MI) accredited by Middlesex University. I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and a UKCP-accredited, integrative psychotherapist. I have an advanced certificate in couples therapy (COSRT accredited).

As an integral part of my studies, I gained several years’ experience as a trainee in an addiction counselling service as well as providing counselling for hospice residents and their relatives.

I currently head a psychosocial counselling service.  

I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), a student member of the Metanoia Institute (MI), and a member of the Verband freier Psychotherapeuten, Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie und Psychologischer Berater e.V. (VfP). I abide by the codes of ethics of these organisations.  

I regularly consult with senior colleagues. This supervision serves to raise my awareness of how I am working and thus enhance the quality of my professional practice.
